Who we Are

St Peter’s exists to worship God as a loving community where people of all backgrounds may grow in the Christian faith, share the love of Jesus through their talents, and help bring the Gospel message to the world.​

  • The Rev’d Geordan Geddings, SSC.

    Rector

    Fr. Geordan attended the University of South Carolina where he found the Anglican Church. He attended the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC, receiving a Master of Arts in Religion and formation at the Anglican Cathedral of the Epiphany under the Rt. Rev. Paul C. Hewett, SSC. He has served as a priest at parishes in Alabama and Georgia. He and his wife, Joanna, met at the St. Michael’s Anglican Youth Conference in Detroit, MI., they have four children.  Fr. Geordan was called as Rector of St. Peter’s in February 2020. He enjoys reading, playing the piano, and fishing.

The Rev’d Micah Snell, PhD.

Assistant Priest

Father Micah Snell is a part-time assistant at St. Peter’s. He and his wife Jennifer have six children. He is an Assistant Professor of English in the Honors College at Houston Baptist University, where his specialty is the intersection of theology and literature. He attended Biola University as an undergraduate, went to Nashotah House Theological Seminary for his priestly training, and holds a PhD in Theology and the Arts from the University of St. Andrews. He likes boats, fountain pens, and Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Diocesan Bishop

The Most Rev’d Mark Haverland, PhD.

Archbishop

Archbishop Mark Haverland is a graduate of Kenyon College with a bachelor’s degree in political science.  He earned an MA in Roman Catholic theology from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. in religion from Duke University. Before his consecration to the episcopacy he served parishes in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. He was consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of the South in 1998, and enthroned as Archbishop of the Anglican Catholic Church in 2005. He is located in Athens, Georgia, at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Stephen’s.
